Silk Taffeta derives its name from the Persian \"Taftah\" which means \"twisted woven\". It is called this because it is a plain, tightly woven fabric with fine horizontal ribs and is produced from white silk cocoons. Silk Taffeta is an excellent silk that is admirably soft and comes with a glossy finish. The fabric is flat and makes a unique rustle sound when moved. Mainly used in apparel and drapery type applications. We carry over 250 colors, all of which are 54 inches in width.
