This is an irridescent fabric created by weaving threads of two different colors together. The irridescent quality creates a glimmering effect when the fabric is moved around in light. All fabrics in the dupioni and shantung collections that start with the code \"BE\" are irridescent and those that start with the code \"BA\" are non-irridescent. Silk Dupioni is the most well-known of the silk fabrics, and is used in both upholstery and apparel type applications. Unlike Silk Shantung, Dupioni is hand-woven instead of machine-woven and thus has slightly more slubs. At this time we carry over 250 colors in Silk Dupioni all of which are 54 inches in width.
